General Reservations Questions
Q: What is the dress code on board the ships?
A: Shipboard attire ranges from Country Club casual to informal to formal. Country Club casual (resort-style attire) is appropriate for daytime on board or ashore. Shorts are not appropriate after 6 p.m. in any of the public rooms or lounges. Guests are asked not to wear bathing suits in the restaurants and lounges at any time. Evening attire can be Country Club casual, informal (sport coat and tie recommended), or formal (black tie optional). Evening dress codes begins at 6 p.m.
Q: How can I find the dress code for each sailing?
A: Depending on your itinerary the dress code varies by ship and location. In your documents it states how many formal nights there are, and once on board, the suggested evening dress code is listed on the front page of your ship's daily newsletter.
Q: I am in cabin 816 on the Mariner. Why do my bag tags say deck 8F?
A: The F means Forward deck which helps in the loading of bags on the pier.
Q: Can I book my cruise online?
A: Not at this time.
Q: Do we provide wheelchairs to passengers?
A: No, they would have to provide their own, except in an emergency.
Q: Should pregnant guests have any special documentation?
A: Pregnant women should consult with their doctor prior to sailing with Regent Seven Seas Cruises as we cannot offer pre-natal care on board any of our vessels. Regent Seven Seas Cruises will not accept any guest if she is (24 weeks) 6 months or more into the pregnancy at the time of sailing due to the lack of neo-natal care facilities onboard.
Those guests under (24 weeks) six months must provide RSSC with a written doctor's permission prior to sailing that states she is "fit to travel by sea and air (if RSSC booked their air)". This must be forwarded to Adminstration, Beresford House, Town Quay, Southampton, Hampshire, SO14 2AQ or fax 023 8083 9150. Please reference the Guest's name, ship name and sailing date. This permission must be dated within 30 days of the cruise departure date.
The Master in conjunction with the Ship's Doctor has the right to deny boarding if in his professional opinion there may not be adequate shore side medical facilities available in port during their cruise.
Q: What is your smoking policy?
A: While we will always give smokers a warm welcome on our ships, we also recognise the need to restrict where smoking is permitted so as not to cause discomfort to, or provide a health or safety hazard for, the majority of our guests who do not smoke. Cigarette smoking is not permitted in any enclosed dining areas, whether it be the ships' main dining rooms or the alternate dining venues. Cigarette smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the outdoor Pool Grills.
Q: What is your policy about additional gratuities?
A: Gratuities are included in the cruise fare for all RSSC vessels. If guests feel strongly about expressing their gratitude to the crew, they should be encouraged to make a donation to the Crew Welfare Fund at the Purser Office. This money is utilised for crew parties and events.
Q: What is "open seating?"
A: You can dine whenever, wherever and with whomever you choose during regular dining hours. In some of the alternative restaurants, reservations are recommended.
Q: Where can I find the day-to-day itineraries?
A: Under the Our Cruises section.
Q: After I make a reservation, when do you need a deposit?
A: A 15% deposit is due within 72 hours, final payment is due 90 days prior to sailing. However, there are exceptions; World Collections and Paul Gauguin require a 20% deposit. Final payment is due 100 days prior to sailing.
