Regent's Mark Conroy de-mystifies ultra luxury
Mark Conroy, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, flew in from the States to give an inspiring and significant speech at the three day ACE Cruise Convention, highlighting Regent is a competitive contender in the cruise market as a whole.
The event, held at St Mary's Stadium Southampton, was attended by over 450 travel agents from around the country. The aim was to showcase the whole cruise industry, whilst establishing a clear definition for the ultra luxury brands.
Mark Conroy comments, "Every agent has ultra luxury clients, you just may not realise it. The fares clients pay for mid-ship and above suites on contemporary ships will be comparable to ultra luxury cruise fares. You must remember, on contemporary ships there are a number of extras you need to pay for whilst on board. On the contrary, Regent ships are all inclusive, which means guest can enjoy complimentary dining-in gourmet restaurants, such as Le Cordon Bleu, as well as premium drink brands and other beverages throughout the ship. In-suite dining and room service is also complimentary. Regent guests do not have to worry about gratuities either, as onboard gratuities are included. Clients have the benefit of total relaxation when cruising in ultra luxury."
Graham Sadler, Managing Director UK, Regent Seven Seas Cruises adds, "The cruise industry is rapidly expanding and in turn the ultra luxury market is also experiencing high growth. For 2009, Regent Seven Seas UK alone is already ahead of expectations with 100% growth year on year."
Regent is set to continue to increase its market share in the ultra-luxury cruise market and is looking at investing in another ship. Regent is currently in talks with three ship yards and hopes to be able to make an announcement in the next few months. Watch this space!
